CHARLES LANG, III

 

Charles Lang, III has over 30 years experience in human resources and organizational development as a professional coach, trainer, and motivational speaker. Charles recently completed his VA career as the Designated Learning Officer for the VA Southeast Network 7, Department of Veterans Affairs.  In this capacity, he was responsible for planning, developing, and coordinating VISN-wide educational initiatives and programs in collaboration with the VA Medical Centers located in Georgia, Alabama and South Carolina.  He is a nationally recognized trainer/facilitator/coach by the Department of Veterans Health Affairs.  His achievements include the development of a VISN-wide Leadership Effectiveness Programs for high potential leaders.  He represented VISN 7 as a member of the Network Executive Heath Care Leadership Program and served as Coach and Faculty for this Executive Training Program.

Charles also has extensive corporate training experience in such areas as team-building, interpersonal communications, customer service, and leadership development. He has served as keynote speaker for conferences and conventions including national, state and regional associations; business and industry; schools, colleges and universities; hospitals and allied health associations; local, state, and national government services and departments.  Most recently, he has been involved in leading community-based leadership retreats for local chambers of commerce and various business partners.  His “passion” for helping others is immediately felt by his learners.   He has instructed over 7,000 welfare to work job-seekers in the Adventures in Attitudes Program.  Through this intensive training effort, he has inspired many to “break” the barriers of welfare and to begin taking charge of their life and career with confidence and self-determination.    He is currently authoring his first book entitled The Light Within, a collection of messages for glowing and growing!

A graduate of the University Of North Carolina School Of Public Health, Charles holds a Masters in Public Health Administration. He is an award winner distributor with Inscape Publishing Company and has also achieved certification in DiSC and Myers-Briggs Assessments.   He is designated by the National Association of Business Coaches as a Registered Corporate Coach (RCC), and the Department of Veterans Affairs as a Fellow Coach.  Charles was instrumental in the development of a VISN-wide coaching and mentoring program that has reached over 5,000 VA employees.  His work was recognized in 2010 by the Georgia Coaches Association when he received the prestigious PRISM Award for outstanding coaching performance.

An active member of his community, Charles has held leadership positions with such organizations as United Way, Exchange Club, Women’s Shelter, Junior Miss Program, Parents for Public Education, and Chamber Leadership Program.   He is an active member of his local Presbyterian Church where he serves as Elder and Choir Director.
