James Navé is Giant Leap’s Creativity Czar. Navé is a master storyteller, a poet, a director, and a writing teacher. He founded and co-directs The Writing Salon based in Taos, NM. He teaches creativity, writing, and presentation arts at The University of New Mexico, Taos, New Mexico, Vermont College of Fine Arts, Montpelier, Vermont, and The Huston School of Film and Digital Media, a department of the National University of Ireland, Galway, Ireland.
His poetry has appeared in the North Carolina Literary Review, The Asheville Literary Review, Summit Magazine, Chokecherries, Heart Stone Journal, The Dirty Goat, River Oak Review, Schuylkill Valley Journal of the Arts, Phoebe, Tightrope, Willard and Maple, South Carolina Review, Griffin, and Slam Redux. He is the author of an illustrated book of poems, The Road (Bookpartners, 1997).
In 1984, Navé co-founded Poetry Alive!, a national touring company that performs poetry as theater. From 1995-2001, he was the director of Julia Cameron's Artist's Way Creativity Camp in Taos, NM. Navé continues touring as a poet, creativity consultant,and writing teacher in schools, universities, and businesses around the globe. He is the co-director of The Imaginative Strom Writing Salon based in Taos, NM
